OMNOVA’s Wallcovering Reclamation Program

November 17th, 2008 · No Comments

OMNOVA
OMNOVA Solutions is pleased to announce its Commercial Wallcovering Reclamation Program, designed to divert used wallcovering from landfills and into the production of new building products.

Effective immediately, OMNOVA Solutions is accepting post-use fabric backed vinyl wallcoverings, regardless of the original manufacturer. OMNOVA will recycle the vinyl back into new wallcoverings that feature RECORETM recycled wall technology and into other products for the design and construction industry. In addition to vinyl, OMNOVA’s reclamation program will accept non-PVC commercial wallcoverings which feature ECORETM Advanced Wall Technology.

The process is easy. When building owners, architects or designers select new wallcoverings from OMNOVA Solutions, including wallcoverings from its well-known Avant, Bolta, Essex, Genon, Scion and Tower brands, they can turn in wallcoverings that have been removed, as well as construction scrap, to OMNOVA’s Wallcovering Reclamation Program. Working through OMNOVA’s network of wallcovering distribution partners, architects and designers can use the program to earn valuable Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits for renovation and construction projects.

As the largest manufacturer of contract wallcoverings, and a global supplier to the interiors industry, OMNOVA Solutions is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations and products. OMNOVA’s emphasis on developing environmentally-focused products and services is demonstrated through the new Wallcovering Reclamation Program, as well as product technologies such as RECORE, which features 30% recycled content, and ECORE, a “no compromise” PVC alternative technology introduced in 2007 through OMNOVA’s AVANT and Scion wallcovering brands. OMNOVA’s commitment to environmentally responsible practices in the manufacturing of commercial wallcoverings includes the use of water-based inks, scrap reduction and recycling programs, and reductions in the energy required for production. Additionally, OMNOVA was the first wallcovering manufacturer to achieve the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality certification.
