RTZ Co. Anniversary Special on Murals

November 10th, 2008 · No Comments

RTZ Murals - Under the SeaRTZ Company, Inc. is offering three decorative wall treatment lines directly to dealers in celebration of 10 years in business. Now retailers can purchase Imaginative Murals™, Focal Point Murals™ and Re-defined for Life™ straight from the artist / manufacturer. In addition to generous discounts and low minimums for stocking dealers, the company is offering new dropship programs as they try to meet the needs of their customers. “Being a small company ourselves, we really enjoy the interaction we now have with our dealers. We can receive ideas and feedback on our products and get tips on what designs customers are searching for. Plus, we now have the ability to quickly react to the market with digital printing,” said Randy Selgrath, CEO of RTZ.

As an artist, Trisha Selgrath is excited by the flexibility digital printing offers. “I can add and make changes to existing styles or create lots of new ones in a relatively short amount of time,” the designer stated. In 1997, Trisha started painting a mural in her son’s room and conceived the idea for printed, die-cut, trompe l’oeil style murals. For almost two years, she painted the initial designs while her infant son slept. Then, in 1999, she and her husband, Randy, launched Imaginative Murals.

The mural catagory in the wallcovering industry has grown tremendously since its inception. Keeping up with technological advances in printing, several of the best selling designs are being reproduced digitally, allowing Trish to make updates to the murals. For example, the popular Under the Sea mural now has over 40 additional fish instead of 3. The Bay Window mural is now enhanced by 7 faux framed sea shells painted with great attention to detail. The new line called Focal Point Murals is digitally printed on EZ Up & Off wet and stick, non-woven substrate. “None of our styles have been discontinued. We have retained the quality of the detailed original and put it on a paper that will be easier for the customer to adhere, simply wet and stick, and then easily remove without tools. Plus, since it comes in 18 inch rolls, the shipping costs are lower,” said Randy Selgrath.

The third line is called Re-defined for Life and branches out from wall appliques into art prints, greeting cards and gifts. Combining art with poetry and philosophy, Re-defined for Life is uplifting and meaningful. Trisha has taken common words and redefined them in a concise, motivational way then added modern art. In a total departure from her realistic art, Trisha effectively expresses the words with bold, colorful abstracts. The artist describes her market, “ People want to surround themselves with images that make them feel good especially now in these uncertain times. Re-defined for Life is meant to inspire and encourage people to take positive action”. The art is translated into cut, wet and stick wall appliques called Inspired DecorTM and are printed on the EZ Up & Off substrate. Design possibilities abound for using the 6 art pieces and the 78 matching assorted squares that come in each roll.
